With more than 78,000 fragmented portals and outdated infrastructure, it offered inconsistent service experiences and poor performance—leading to increased user frustration, heavy call volume, and rising operational costs during a time of unprecedented demand.

The Approach

COREONYX led a complete digital transformation of SSA.gov. Using a human-centered design framework and USWDS, we rebuilt the site’s architecture on a modern, secure, and scalable content management system. The launch included redesigned services for Social Security Numbers, retirement, disability, and SSI benefits—delivered via a FedRAMP-secure cloud environment with CDN performance and real-time system monitoring.
